Transcontinental Race –The Gear List

My bike and gear are out for the final check before being boxed to fly to to London tomorrow. Thought it would be a good time to go through what I’m taking with me—as always too much!

Gear

Top row:

  • Monte Bell down vest
  • Headsweat hat with neck cover
  • Zpack sleeping bag
  • Titanium Goat Bivy
  • X-frame Mat

It was a real toss up over taking the sleeping bag and gear but in the end I know that one of the biggest risks to my not finishing is getting cold, especially in the mountains—hence the down vest as well. Were it not for these items I’d be much smaller volume wise.

Second row:

  • Ground Effect long sleeve SPF 30 riding shirt
  • Ground Effect shorts
  • Rocky Road Goretex socks
  • Ground Effect merino socks
  • Ground Effect Storm Trooper jacket

Third row:

  • Pearl Izumi riding vest
  • 2XU compression trousers (good for night time recovery)
  • Louis Garneau light weight riding gloves
  • Extremities Goretex over mits
  • Gore Riding Gear rain pants

Things become a bit confusing from here so I’ll summarize:
